Jean Edmunds was born and raised in West Virginia
which explains her loyalty in football to the
Pittsburg Steelers and the West Virginia Mountaineers.
She
attended school in West Virginia and was employed for
10 years by The C&P Telephone Company of W.V. She and Dave met while
both were employed at C&P and they were married in 1966. They will
celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary this December. Jean
and Dave have two sons - Matthew and David, Jr. along with two precious
grandchildren in Richmond, Va. It was Jean's desire to be closer
to the children and grandchildren that brought her from Pinehurst, N.C.
to the Charlottesville area in May of 2003.
Jean has been active in a leadership role for many years in Community
Bible Study and has enjoyed her participation in numerous other bible
studies over the years. Her other interest/hobbies revolve around
babysitting for her grandchildren, shopping, traveling and NFL Football
when her favorite teams are playing!
The
Edmunds have lived in the Glenmore area for the past 2 1/2 years.
Both enjoy the relatively easy 50 minute drive to the west side of
Richmond whenever their 'grandparent duties' beckon.
Prior
to coming to Charlottesville in 2003, Jean was also active in the
Republican Women's Club of Moor County, North Carolina.
Jean
joined ACRWL soon after her arrival here and she has been an invaluable
member ever since, providing us on numerous occasions with meaningful
and deeply moving blessings at our luncheon meetings and also hosting
meetings in her lovely home. As Chairman of the Legislative Committee,
Jean is a member of our Board of Directors and we are grateful for her
faithful participation and wise input.
